Cashmere goats are generally not used for meat or milking, as many other goats are. Cashmere goats produce a fiber that can be combed from them once every year. It is fine and strong, and garments made from it provide ideal insulation. The fiber is dyed, cleaned and spun into yarn. Cashmere is an expensive fiber in it's pure form, but can be blended with other fibers to enable a more economic price.
